Twiliight was awesome. Seriously.

Go team Catherine. I came across this Twilight trailer the other day and was memorized. Listen to the music. I truly loved this film and never really realized it until after I saw New Moon. Chris Weitz' visuals are stunning and he's a tremendous director. But Catherine Hardwicke's original Twilight movie was a beautiful piece of work and really needs to be given its' proper due.  Whether it met Hollywood's or the mainstream public's  (who didn't read and love the books) standards is of no importance to me; it totally and completely captured the essence of Edward Cullen.

I think Catherine should direct Breaking Dawn, get back to the love story it is...Yes all the action is great but to keep it as close to the books as possible they have to get back to the roots of the story....Edward and Bella...do not let them have so much le way with it either
...make KStew show her feelings in at least one of the movies and this would be the perfect one!

Merry Christmas and A Very Happy New Year to All!

You, too, Tracey! I agree. I loved Chris W. but I said while they were filming that I hoped they didn't lost that magic since New Moon was being directed by a man. (No offense to men. But notoriously, men "think" while women "feel".) There is something to be said for Catherine Hardwicke's quirkiness. It helped her understand - and portray - the love story. She had so many methods to her madness. We asked her why she didn't stick with scene in the book where Edward admits to being a vampire in the car on the way home from Port Angeles. She said it was because they could only shoot from three angles - 1) through the driver's window... 2) through the passenger window... or 3)head on, straight through the windshield... and from those angles she just wouldn't have been able to properly convey the emotion in that scene. I was 100% on board with that. She "gets" it. She really does.
